Community Guidelines

Creating a safe, respectful, and supportive space for all members.

Our Core Values

Compassion

We treat each other with kindness, understanding, and without judgment. Everyone's recovery journey is valid.

Safety & Confidentiality

What's shared here stays here. We maintain strict confidentiality and protect each other's privacy.

Respect

We respect differences in profession, perspective, background, and recovery path. Diverse views strengthen our community.

Accountability

When mistakes happen, we address them honestly and work toward resolution. Growth requires accountability.

Community Guidelines

1. Maintain Confidentiality

What members share in discussions stays within the community. Never share another member's experiences, names, or information outside of our platform without explicit permission.

Why: Trust is the foundation of our community. Confidentiality allows members to be vulnerable and authentic.

2. Be Respectful & Non-Judgmental

Treat all members with respect regardless of profession, background, gender, age, or beliefs. Disagreements are okay; disrespect is not.

Examples of respectful behavior: Listening with an open mind, using "I" statements, validating others' experiences, avoiding assumptions.

3. Support, Don't Harm

Our goal is mutual support. Don't shame, bully, harass, or demean other members. Disagreement doesn't mean you need to attack.

Not allowed: Insults, personal attacks, discrimination, bullying, or harassment of any kind.

4. No Professional Advice from Non-Professionals

Our community is for peer support, not professional medical or mental health treatment. Don't diagnose others or provide professional recommendations.

Appropriate: Sharing your experience. Not appropriate: "You should take X medication" or "You clearly have anxiety disorder."

5. Stay On Topic

Keep discussions relevant to recovery, wellness, and supporting each other. Off-topic or promotional content dilutes the community experience.

Avoid: Spam, excessive self-promotion, unrelated political rants, or off-topic marketing.

6. Respect Boundaries

Some members may not want to discuss certain topics. Respect when someone says they're not comfortable. Don't push discussions toward content members have indicated is triggering.

Tips: Use content warnings for sensitive topics, ask permission before sharing heavy content, respect when someone steps back.

7. Seek Help for Crises

If you're experiencing a mental health emergency or suicidal thoughts, please contact a crisis helpline immediately rather than relying on our community.

Enforcement & Consequences

We take these guidelines seriously. When violations occur, we follow this approach:

1st Violation

Private warning with explanation and opportunity to correct behavior

2nd Violation

Formal warning and restriction from community features for 7 days

3rd Violation

30-day suspension from the community

Severe Violations

Threatening, harassing, or illegal behavior results in immediate removal without warning

Our goal is always restoration and growth, not punishment. Members can appeal decisions or request reinstatement after showing commitment to the guidelines.

Report a Violation

If you witness behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it to our moderation team. We take all reports seriously and handle them confidentially.
